Our favourite rooms
Every room at the Berkeley is individual; all are stylishly decorated and well-appointed. If you only need one extra bed or cot, we'd plump for a chic Robert Angell-designed Balcony King room; otherwise interconnecting rooms and suites are the best choice for families. Superior or Deluxe King rooms can be interconnected – with the option of twin beds – to most room categories. Deluxe Junior Suites and Superior Junior Suites are open-plan rooms with distinct sitting and sleeping areas, which can easily take an extra bed or cot; Corner Suites and Knightsbridge Suites have separate bedrooms and living rooms and can be linked with other rooms to form two-bedroom, two-bathroom suites. At the top end, the one-bedroom Conservatory Suites have vast city-view terraces, living rooms and acres of space.
With Roman steps, floats to borrow and diminutive proportions, the rooftop pool is great for family swims. Accompanied children are welcome in the pool during family-friendly sessions: from noon to 2pm and 4pm to 7pm on weekdays, 11am to 2pm and 4pm to 7pm on Saturdays, and from 10am to noon on Sundays.
The Bamford Haybarn spa within the Berkeley Health Club channels the restorative spirit of the countryside to central London. Choose from a plump list of Bamford body treatments and massages, Oskia facials and Essie mani-pedis, then enjoy a light lunch on the rooftop terrace post-pampering session.
There are children’s films to borrow free, and on-demand TV movies for £12 for 24 hours.
Guests need to book at least three weeks ahead for dinner at Marcus Wareing. Book 48 hours ahead to guarantee a babysitter.
