Justine had the idea for the UK’s most influential online community of women when on a first family holiday with her 11-month-old twins after a high-profile family-friendly resort was a huge disappointment. ‘If only we’d known before schlepping across an ocean and shelling out loads of dosh.’ Back in London, Justine set about establishing her site for mothers to swap advice on holidays, sleep problems, childcare concerns and, as it turned out, everything imaginable. As Mumsnet was burgeoning so was Justine’s family: she now has four children Lola and Scarlet, now in their teens, have since been joined by Jake and Jesse.
