Now a North London father of one, Rick Jordan travelled extensively in his first three years of life, from Edinburgh to Sierra Leone by ship with his parents and back again – then didn’t go anywhere much at all until he was 20. Now he’s encouraging his four-year-old Alfie to broaden his horizons, inspired by Richard Scarry’s Busy, Busy World. Notable successes have been sandcastle building in the Algarve and Michelin-starred ice-cream in the Pays de la Loire. He works for Condé Nast Traveller.
