Tim Lott, Author Candid cultural commentator

An author of acclaimed books such as his 1996 memoir The Scent of Dried Roses, his first novel, White City Blue, won the Whitbread First Novel Award and his 2002 follow up, Rumours of Hurricane, was shortlisted. Tim Lott’s writing touches upon poignant social themes, tackling issues such as parent-child relationships and middle age: so we thought the columnist in The Observer's Family section definitely qualified to be in our Parent Panel. A regular on TV and radio as a commentator and literary critic, Lott's travel journalism also appears far and wide, including in British Airway's in-flight magazine, High Life.
